Another issue with cut off the water supply seems to be that many cats can't get enough water to live in their homes. It seems like one of those issues probably can affect so many cats, especially while at work or home, and at least some of them may be sick or tired and not able to get enough water and/or food. Most people seem to have some kind of water restriction because they are in extreme pain, or because they're in a situation when they need it most.
